Hitchcock between Žižek and Aristotle
Abstract
In this paper I manage a set of categories and intended to integrate them as a method to analyze film images in a conceptual level. I try an application of this methodological tool in the particular case of Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo, which I consider as an image-concept of the untruthful character of reality. Another interpretation of the same film guided by lacanian categories, is advanced by Slavoj Zizec. My aim is to point at very diferent interpretations, however disparate their approaches and methodologies, as being plausible and illuminating when applied to the same film. This result should say something deep about the very notion of image-concept in the analysis of movies from a philosophical viewpoint.Downloads
