Cultural 'mestizaje' and baroque ethos. An intercultural consideration from the works of Bolivar Echeverría
Abstract
Cultural 'mestizaje' existing in Mexico is a very specific expression of contemporary interculturality. Bolivar Echeverria has questioned the idea existing in the European cultural sphere: that underdeveloped countries have an incomplete social and cultural life. For him, a modern society is the one that is open to other social bodies and breaks the barriers that premodern societies build around themselves to protect their supposed 'cultural purity'.Downloads
