Abstract

In Reason and Dogmatism: An Approach to Kant's Philosophy, Enrique Serrano develops an interpretation of Kantian epistemology following some guiding threads that are pointed out in the review. These threads are: 1) an interpretation of Kantian epistemology that brings it closer to pragmatism; 2) the appreciation of the Kantian transcendental perspective that gives priority to synthesis over analysis; 3) the conception of being as relation; 4) the link between language and synthetic activity; 5) an interpretation of the Kantian transcendental time as a synthetic mediation of the subjective and the objective; and 6) the consideration of consciousness as a self-constitutive activity. Based on them, the interpretation and the arguments that Enrique Serrano develops throughout his work are presented in a general way.
